I was suppose to post this earlier but that Ame fashion entry was too cute that I enjoyed seeing it sit at the top of my blog without anything disrupting all the bright colours of her wardrobe. Anyway here is a weekly update of what is going on in my reality. Work has been seamless and no problems, though our rating is horrid (we got 10 days to boost it up again!) though I also may been having a change of scene if all goes to plan and with the continuing support of my Front office manager and duty managers.
I won’t speak of it as of yet since its still very much in the early stages but after I was presented with a different path in my career, I realised that after 4 years in the same hotel, doing the same job I have become officially stalemate. No movement, no nothing even with the increased training of more tasks. This offer was presented to be my boss and had me thinking about it the past couple of days. I sought out advice from my besties Mei and Katie, my boyfriend Brad and my parents. They all think I should go for this new opportunity, so we’ll see how it goes.
I will keep you all my readers in touch of how it goes over the next couple of weeks, but surely nothing will happen as of yet because of my big holiday in August.
The top five likes from the past 10 days;
- New assistant manager has started working at my hotel, he knows my other duty manager and we are getting along very nicely
- Shadowhunters is back tomorrow, wooot!
- I have been binge watching Season 1 of Reign, oh gosh my ‘Frary’ heart is bursting
- I know I’m suppose to be saving up my money but I couldn’t help but get new Peter Alexander winter pjs today
- I’ve seen this handmade Enchanted rose with fairy lights on Etsy and I want to buy it so much! Maybe after my holiday (if I have money left in my bank account)
I do not like this 4-7 degrees Celsius every night I finish at 11pm and drive home, it is too cold though it is perfect excuse to pull out the cute winter wear again and get all snuggled in. But I still don’t like it! Work has its moments of being random and fun, then other times we are cracking down and working our butts off until after the shift ends.
Tonight was one of those nights and it is also when I had some girl who only comments on my timeline when being a bitch and the thing is she really knows nothing, to think that my status was about the virtual world had me mentally facepalming- some people live online too much.
An assortment of five positive things this week;
- Vivid (Sydney sound and light show) is back on in the city, going to see it with family on 11th June
- More Shadowhunters promos, we have a week until it premieres again!
- My group of girls- glad we are hanging out more on IMVU, it is peaceful
- My unicorn slippers arrived in the post last week, just in time for the cold weather
- Natural stones collection at Lovisa jewellery store- been wearing a lot of moon stones lately :3
After last weekend’s non stop action, this week has been fairly slow, the past week was all PM shifts and training the new GSA, she been nailing the checklist so I had confidence that she would be fine to work on her own when I went on my days off. Weekend was exciting and did a lot of socialising with my friendship group from high school.
Now I’m halfway through my AM shifts in this new week and so far it’s been quiet because of this Easter long weekend, I don’t mind it has been nice to catch up on projects that had to be put on hold because of my teaching or busy days where we are 100% and full of corporate guests.
My five likes for this week;
- Mei’s 30th birthday dinner, got to catch up with the high school girlies
- Fate of the Furious (F8) was friggin awesome especially in gold class
- Shadowhunters is renewed for Season 3…according to SpoilerTV
- Bucket of M&M speckled eggs from my younger sister for Easter
- Quiet weekend at work, everyone still on holidays!
Home now and about to go downstairs for dinner with my family but it has been a rather chill Sunday afternoon, I had my work Christmas party the first one I got to go to after 3 years working in the same place and it was a lot of fun and learned how to bowl on the green. Took one of my assistant managers home who is also training me to become a team leader. Staying positive and smiling lots today 😀
This week’s 5 likes;
- Joanna Lumley’s Japan- A show on ABC of the actress travelling in the land of the Rising Sun, I neeeddd to go!
- Barefoot bowling with work for our Christmas party today
- 3 days off now woohoo!
- A video sent from my drunk boyfriend telling his mates to say hi to me xD
- My IMVU avatar is pretty to my standards again
After a chilled out five days off though one of those days included going for a walk in the Blue Mountains, yes I drove 45mins up into my local mountains and went for a walk around our local landmarks because the company of myself when everyone else is working is quite enjoyable. I have returned to work since last Friday and the weekend was chaotic with dodgy guests who just aren’t trusted or causing disruption. Just got tonight and tomorrow then I have my weekend again 😀
This week’s 5 likes;
- Dinner with my family at Hard rock cafe then dessert at Lindt cafe in the city last night, lots of fun as always
- My flickr has reached 900 followers (currently 902) I never thought I’d reach it
- Venus and a super Moon are out in the skies tonight
- Mum has booked us a midnight screening of Fantastic beasts and where to find them this Wednesday! #Gryffindorpride
- Yesterday I celebrated my 2 year relationship with my other half Brad ❤
I think the vice I got again is related to those on Second Life who make the videos of their avatar dancing, product value I understand to show what you are offering but those girls who do it to purposely show off their huge pixel tits or backside, you are better off going on those cam websites and displaying your real body if so bold -_-
I been back home from Hawaii for the past 9 days and also returned to work two days after I landed. My regular guests were happy to see me and asked of stories while in Oahu, happy to say that during the first week back I did not have any post-holiday blues more like a refreshed mind and ready to tackle work. I was surely missed by all of my Front desk team and it was amazing to see them all again.
I also experienced jury duty, that was interesting to say the least but I wasn’t selected so didn’t have to inform work I’d be missing out on shifts which leads to my return to work tomorrow with a stretch of 7 days, blah! I caught up in all my shopping on Second Life and Legion has been amazing, my warlock got her Scepter of Sargaras as you probably read in the short story I posted recently of her.
This week’s 5 likes;
- My two, new Donut pillow cases from Adair
- The latest collection made by Kitten D’amour: Girl Friday
- My international group of friends- Mei, Katie, Aria, Rose, Elie and Mez
- Cleaning out my clothes and organising my closet better
- Work antics while on shift with my Front office
I also got two vices to quickly jot down in my diary, Insta-Fakes– People who post pictures to make it look like their life is amazing and so well versed when really they at home and do nothing and Fave-baits– In particular on my SL flickr when girls especially post pictures that aren’t appealing just to get a damn favourite usually is some sexual theme. No!
Day 3 of work today and so far nothing too dramatic going on at work and I even got time to continue my story board for my Lotus Hexad trilogy. Counting down still until I get to watch Suicide Squad as well as flying out to Hawaii, need to start packing for that soon.
Second Life facebook and people’s statuses though, what irks me is the girls who are known for having many men complain about how they can’t last in any sort of relationship maybe because word spreads of how many males you have conquered and its not attractive at all. I wonder have they ever thought about this, not every bloke likes used goods.
I haven’t started my trilogy yet either and I keep adding more details into my little notebook, I have the opening chapter ready just need to motivate myself to type it all. Anyway, these are my five likes;
- How to cake it youtube channel, Yolanda’s cakes are amaze
- Tom Hiddleston is back in Australia for Thor 3 😀
- Cadbury crunchie block
- The patience and understanding from my boyfriend
- Ever After High’s latest Netflix movie: Epic Winter
Sorry I’m three days behind my usual daily schedule of posting everything and anything but I haven’t been feeling the motivation for any diary or fashion tile on Second Life. What I have been doing these past couple of days is working the AM shifts and dealing with the freezing temperatures early morning. I have also got my hayfever brewing due to the fact I cleaned my room on my previous days off.
I also got to watch Mad Max: Fury Road and found myself enjoying it very much despite the morbid setting of a wasteland future, Pottermore released the houses of the American magic girl Ilvermorny and I got sorted into the Horned Serpent and though it has a snake for its symbol it’s actually one favoured for the scholars and intelligence. In national news we all had to vote yesterday for our next PM and so far it is tied up between both parties, we don’t know the final results until Tuesday, great…
Last week I got myself a Fitbit Charge HR, I figured that after seeing my younger sister have one and my 3 work colleagues wear them it would hopefully motivate me to walk more and do less sitting when I’m not working. Turns out it has! And inspired me to go on for walks to get my steps up. I had a proud, self high five moment last night when I was finishing shift and my fitbit vibrated informing me that I have hit my 10k step goal for the day.
For a girl who struggles in motivation and finding something to help her be healthy or lose weight, I can happily say the fitbit is helping me move more. Especially now that my 3 work colleagues have put me into a 4 day step challenge to see who will win. So far I am second and 2000 steps behind my colleague Honey who is beating all of us. I have today and tomorrow to try and catch up to her, good thing its my weekend 😀
I am not one for boasting about myself unless an amazing achievement has occured and I can crow about this particular moment even though it already happened two days ago at work. Every time guests check out we send a survey to their email for them to assess how did we go as an overall hotel during their stay. Here and there my name gets mentioned and I get my name posted in our back office whiteboard.
But this latest time I got a mention was directly from Simon McGrath’s office! Simon is the COO of Asia Pacific for Accor Hotels, he deals with all of Asia, Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific islands. One of my guests that I got to know since December last year wrote a personal email to his office saying how amazing I was, how I made her feel comfortable and the hotel was like a second home to her. To think this was given to our big boss, ohh yess I’m still giddy from it!
At work and it’s very quiet, which for everyone else is not normal because the last couple of Sundays both the Front desk and the bar has been busy with people requests and sitting down for dinner. It is also storming here which is nice considering we had a warm day, not much going on for me at the moment, I have completely majority of my check list just waiting for a group to check in tonight.
Excited to finish though, the Gacha Garden on Second Life has opened and I have a wishlist on flickr to clean out and a new fashion tile to post and show you my readers 😀
We have the official launch of our property as a Novotel hotel on the 30th September it will also mark from the 2nd of October as 6 months in being part of the Accor family. Considering the transition, our new training and my own as duty manager it has gone quite smoothly. First two months was trial and error, we had 3 strokes of bad luck said goodbye to old staff members and welcomed the newcomers, we re-branded the restaurant and this month finally got all signage on the hotel up.
When asked by other Accor colleagues from other properties are we enjoying the transition and finding a happy medium in being a Novotel I have to agree with my HR manager she said that everyone are much happier and we all reaching our content feeling and not stressing on who we work with. Everyone are much more open to each other and discuss problems then behind their backs. The more this happens more successful our name will get out that and revenue will pick up.
Though today is Day 6 of work and I got one more day left before I finally get my weekend I have to admit that I’m quite content with my reality right now especially tonight. After last night’s argument and conclusion with my dear boyfriend Ian, I know now that I haven’t been paying attention to him in what he deserves and he shouldn’t be dealing with that from me.
Regardless of the fact he did not come here last month and we had to put it on hold until hopefully October (I told him to come here for my mum’s birthday) we manage to save and mend our relationship mostly for my part. I will try and give him more attention than be so caught up and focused on the pixel worlds, mum is warning that I should cease in my SL shopping 😡
Work wise, I have been doing the PM shift with my Assistant front office manager Tash, I’m quite happy to remark that for the past 2 months I have been enjoying work more and more. Not just because I been winning with the enrollments for our hotel but my relationships with my front office bosses has improved tenfold. I actually enjoy going to work now not with a sense of dread 😀
