While I am on dark and Autumn colours on Second Life with snippets of Halloween costumes, I am still wearing plenty of pink while on IMVU. Though I do have a couple of outfits that are black with the arrival of the spooky month.
There is a much bigger variety of pink rooms and clothes in the IMVU community and that is majority thanks to it’s designers who always keep up with the trends of reality. Though a lot of my clothes are found in the DD/bbg lifestyle, I wouldn’t call myself a babygirl. Didn’t 8 years ago when I first realised my submissive tendencies and not now either being a full fledged submissive into kitten play.
My pink fashion varies between harnesses and tiny skirts to casual white tees and boy shorts that are seen in the comfort of my own home then out in the public eye. Though if the rooms are empty, I might go into them to take a picture of my look of the day. The above two outfits were made before my Europe holiday and I have since changed the hair creator for my avatar since everyone is using Java nowadays..
Sometimes I wish that Second Life implements the fashion that IMVU gives to its users, there is too much kink wear seen even in main stream fashion events”and though I love wearing harnesses and garters, I do like the casual outfits that the tamer pixel universe releases to the public. When it comes to my fashion on IMVU, I have applied what I’ve done on Second Life by searching through favourite creators.
Pink isn’t just a colour, it’s an attitude
I will openly admit this to everyone who comes by my blog, sometimes IMVU has cuter clothes than Second Life, I switch between the two quite often and though we do not walk, run or fly on the IMVU platform, the creators do their best in releasing a lot of adorable clothes.
While the men as always it is a work in progress but that is the same in reality too, more female clothes then men brands, even they look handsome and on point in their clothes. I know this because I dress up my boyfriend’s avatar on IMVU. And like what I do on Second Life after sitting in the dressing room and changing my avatar’s appearance, I test out the look either through photo publishing or go into the heavily populated rooms.
The reception is usually recieved well and I get compliments whether from my friends or from randoms who private message in either world. The furniture detail on Second Life is cuter but there is no limit in how much you can put inside a public room on IMVU. I have three public rooms in that world- my office, a Summer pool and my New York city apartment.
I usually hang out in the apartment as most of you are aware from my previous IMVU posts and I always like to chop and change various corners in that public room as much as I change my avatar’s outfit whenever I log on after a while. I have been on IMVU for 10 years now since August this year and I have watched the progression of the standard avatar change from heavy jewellery and bobble heads to sleek mesh heads and scalers to give more curvature to the base.
This assumption especially said by the Second Life users about IMVU avatars needs to stop, because not all of us look like a 2007 avatar anymore, in fact we look really good.
I am browsing Polly Pocket products on both Etsy and Ebay, I have been watching The Magic School bus on Netflix for the past two weeks after work and been hanging out on IMVU where more of old friends from 2010-2012 days are returning with their own fond memories of the ‘Golden years’. It has been quite fun seeing from them again, usually it starts from them finding my homepage and visiting followed by messages than figuring out who they are.
I have been mentioning in previous diary entries on here that with Second Life becoming less appealing, my long distance relationship coming to fruition in two months and more socialising with my international friends on IMVU, it seems like we are heading into a new era of great pixel memories. The friendships I have made and kept from that virtual world though it is small, we are very close and have been through so much together as a group.
Also the 90s child inside me is begging for that new Polly Pocket made that is going to be released on the 23rd June though I am suppose to be saving up money for Europe. Not too long to go now!
It is universally acknowledged that I, Luci Lu/Lucil love toshop in whatever world I am part of, whether it be reality, IMVU or Second Life
As I am seeing less pink and the cutesy sector of SL is dying down I am finding myself reverting back to IMVU in both adding more items to my New York apartment or creating new looks. My closet on IMVU closet is far bigger than my Second Life inventory but that is because I have been on that program much longer.
The layout of IMVU is user friendly as you can see each item before you put it on, you save outfits because you enjoy it not because it is a necessity to remember everything you are wearing.
Take for example these two random outfits above, the first one taken last month in one of my old plushie-filled peach rooms, I was going for cute but at the same time being shady with both the ‘savage’ necklace and the ‘anti-fuck boys’ spray can. It was originally stemmed from an inside joke with the friendship group and became part of the outfit.
The second outfit was made two days ago when bored and online, the top was new and I was pondering what to pair it with until I found the sprinkles on the cheekbones that matched the pink and fluffy skater skirt.
However if I am not putting together outfits, then I am either wishlisting or spontaneous buying items from the IMVU catalog to be added to my New york city apartment (like this apartment needs anymore details) however I did do slight changes in the bedroom on the second floor. I changed the neon signs with lip decals and swapped the stuffies for a suggestive cushion. It got a rise out of my friendship group when I pointed it out to the girls.
I also made a second bedroom which is definitely smaller and more private than the main apartment, still sticking to my theme of being very pink and girly
This week at work has been a mix of busy and quiet but otherwise non eventful, the moments outside the hotel is when it gets better and more interesting. Featured in this week’s five likes. The girls and I were chatting in Facebook chat about how everyone was returning to IMVU and I probably mentioned it in one of my mood or diary entries on here but it is so true! The golden days for us veterans is slowly sparking up again and it is an amazing feeling!
Conversations that never end and full of random moments that have you rolling over in laughter is occuring and it is great to be in the company of great people.
My five likes for this week;
- Shadowhunters 2B trailer was released today, first look at Will as Sebastian and Clary/Jace tension, can’t wait for when it premieres!!
- Kingsman 2: The Golden Circle released its official trailer today as well, I’m so ready
- Reunion of friends on IMVU, it is like the amazing olden days
- Teevee snacks Malt sticks for the 2 days off
- Fantasy Faire has opened again on Second Life, been taking pictures in the different sims that are gorgeous as always
I haven’t vented in either its own sub heading or my diary entries since last year and this is a good thing, I haven’t allowed negative juju cloud my small space in the cyber world or allow anger to take up my mentality. However I will vent about something this early morning before I head into bed. Originally it was gonna be spitting anger two days ago, now that I have clucked to my girls in the Hen Den and told my bestie Mei, I am feeling a lot better.
Now those who read my blog dilligently noted that I have been returning to IMVU, confessed between myself and a couple of the girls in the Hen Den we had agree that Second Life has become hypersexual in community and new events. I have noticed it majorly and I don’t even go to the adult sims or clubs anymore. It is increasing especially with the overwhelming presence of teenagers with no restrictions of age group on that virtual universe.
Since returning to IMVU, I decided to re-create a public space for myself and anyone who wanted to hang out when I was online. I was also looking for a homey area very much like my cottage on SL. Thus my New York apartment originally designed for East Highland high character Elizabeth James was re-used and became my own apartment. My group of girlies absolutely love it and find themselves staying there chilling out if alt tabbed or working. Anyone who is friends with me, know how passionate I am when it comes to being original even if its the virtual world. In both style and home decorating, I pride myself in doing highly detailed rooms.
Which is why the next bit had me so mad all day, one of the former friends/enemies that I knew from EHHS days decided to enter my apartment when I was offline and wishlist a whole lot of the decorations I have in the public room. It is called being original and creeping into my apartment is just stalker levels! Though I admit I creeped her wishlist too and that is how I found out about her wishlisting the stuff from my home in the first place. This isn’t the first time she’s copied me though, she has imitated my look but kept her blonde locks while doing it. I wish people stopped copying, originality still isn’t dead, they should try it.
The past week or two I have made a resurgence in the virtual world known as IMVU, it was the place where I spent most of my young adulthood post high school. It was where I met my best friend in the U.S, Katie as well as and a handful of great girl friends. It is also where I roleplayed with multiple characters, had relationships, made enemies but overall had fun.
Majority of my friendship group have all moved on into reality and only a small collection of us are left and log on at random times, I been having a decor mood lately and IMVU has no prim limits when it comes to decorating your individual rooms and though you have to “dot hop” to get around the rooms and they aren’t all connected, it’s still fun to work with.
Realising that the manor I had put on public back in 2014 was too dark for my tastes and my style was much more light hearted and very pink nowadays, I changed this NYC apartment that originally belonged to my artistic roleplay character Elizabeth James of East Highland High to make it my own.
A place to hang out with the girls whenever we all sync up and are logged on all at once and can play tunes, dance and have fun. So far this week it’s been myself, Katie, Elie and Mez with random appearances from my boyfriend Aum showing up as well. They all love the very detailed room but I will say this right now, some bits were a pain to work on.
My bedroom upstairs on the second floor, this room wasn’t so hard to decorate, a lot of the frames and wall art could go on each wall where I wanted them to, if they weren’t angled right they could just be turned to face the right way. My room in reality has a lot of stuff in it, it is what I call organised chaos and though I certainly do not have the paddle rack or St Andrew’s Cross I definitely got the plushies, cute lights and books/paper everywhere.
It is my favourite room to be in when logged on IMVU, but my second place where I usually go AFK is at the below picture.
One level down below the big tv and gaming station (plus three big bears) is this small corner with the cat rug 😛 I realised I did not have enough room in the bedroom upstairs to set up a blogging desk like I have in my cottage on Second Life so made something much smaller and more cosy on ground floor. Got a virtual Skitty, laptop, Godiva milkshake and M&M’s to call this cosy corner my little space when I am AFK and out in reality.
The theme of pink, black and white is a re-occuring trend though bright colours stand out more in this New York city apartment, but one of my favourite pieces that I loved adding is the fashion and beauty aspect.
The giant closet with make-up box and a Minectaft library cube for kicks as well as shelves full of shoes, bags and let’s not forget those thigh-high leather boots, that was my inner Ame Hayato coming out when I added those in. Adding in a vanity table full of make up that is at the top of the stairs plus a shelf for snapback caps and more make-up/nail polish stashed on top of the drawers.
The added Japanese fashion and anime magazines were a bonus, three mannequins and of course all the soft toys a girl could dream of! This is my comfort zone when logging on but also a place of entertainment and socialising with friends.
For a long time well ever since I started raising my voice and being blunt/brutally honest with people I have labels put on top of my head and not so much in reality but the people behind the computer screens whether on IMVU or Second Life, boy they certainly are keyboard warriors. Because I doubt you’d have the guts to say it to my face or too scared because I’d punt you hard.
- I am outspoken and blunt but wouldn’t you prefer honesty than sugar coating everything?
- No I do not sleep around online, I am quite mongamous in-world too thank you very much
- Drama queen? Calling one out for the bullshit they started is bad?
- I AM submissive but that does not make me a doormat!
- I can be cutesy and fluffy while at the same time showing off a raunchy nature, we all have many facets to our persona
Yes I think that clears up what has been said about me lately, I hope you all understand it a bit more now 😛 Any questions and I’m happy to answer them you stalk me enough to know my avatar name in either program.
Using the same header as what I have for My Writer’s Peeves but this time its not focused on writing or roleplaying, its my general dislikes all together whether in the virtual universes or my reality. This is focused on the IMVU developers I seen, not the ones I support and who are authentic in their textures and design but the thieves and graphic artists they have the guts to say “Ohh its liek MY work!” Ughh! One of many reasons why I left their family friendly virtual world.
However there is one thing that has come to mind after one of the former developers did a rage at his slut of a submissive was being pulsed about in being a thief and whore. Um listen buddy…a thing or two about your beloved “brat”
She is just crying to you and you don’t know half the story and because you are either ignorant or the one on the leash you don’t see this skank is just leading you on and using you for your own “developer” skills though people also reckon you are a thief too 😛 The fact she calls herself a submissive to her Dominant when she truly she is living up to her avi name in being a skank ugh! It’s putting the rest of us to shame
