I got a new set for you all in between working the first week of my 9-5 job, so far the past two days though it has just been induction has been amazing, learning a whole higher calibre of hotel service. Though I am no longer facing the front desk, I am still with the guests over the phone in Reservations.
This collection of three new outfits have two based in Japan, because I would travel there a lot and the other one is a private outing away from the crowds- a green retreat.
Getaway: There is no actual location for this place, it is several but I was inspired by the Spring time in the northern hemisphere and a forest that isn’t too hot or too cold, just right for a small, intimate picnic for alternate self and her celebrity boyfriend. Somewhere away from the crowds where it can be just them in nature. The ankle frilly socks and candy pink cardigan are my favourite additions to this LOTD, it is very feminine and whimsical. Also the small jelly is a return to my childhood, I loved eating them.
Trip to Japan: The Land of the Rising sun is still no.1 in my travel bucket list in reality, so it makes perfect sense that my alternate self would be going to this country more than once. I think my favourite piece from this look is the heavily detailed denim jacket, I mean c’mon just look at it! All those pins and chains, it looks punk rock but it’s not. It is elegant enough to pull off on top of a cute pink skirt and Louboutin spiked heels.
Tokyo Disneyland: The happiest place on Earth, of course I’m going to visit its Japanese counterpart many times if I could in reality and plenty in my alternate universe where money and time is no issue. The short sleeves and skirt though may be the wrong attire for Halloween in Japan because they are already heading into their colder months (whoops). The novelty aspect that I was going for in this LOTD was a lot of fun especially with the food theme jewellery- sushi earrings and gummi bears bracelet.
Oh I absolutely loved being in Paris for the five nights I was there this past August and because of my love for the tv series Miraculous, which is set in that fashion capital and working for a French hotel chain, I can’t really escape it.
The below three outfits are what I created if my alternate self went to Paris for either work or pleasure, keeping to pink of course. I had lots of fun creating these too;
Parisian Kitty: Time for work for the fashion magazine and it means going to many capital cities to do interviews, find clothing of inspiration, take photos or even stand-in for the editor-in-chief. I absolutely love this outfit! The skirt is by Dolce & Gabanna, those hot boots are by Alexander McQueen and ice-cream wristlet is by Betsey Johnson (of course). It is blending something professional with the pink blazer and making it into something I would call my own. The scarf is directly from Sanrio online store and hair would be pulled into a neat bun, like I said it was fun to create.
Night out: The celebrity boyfriend and I would go out with friends, whether his fellow stars or my own group and it wouldn’t be all just for work. This outfit is inspired by an all out, star-studded event and taken on Bastille Day. A known holiday to the French and something they celebrate as much as New Years eve. The outfit itself is not really a designer brand, more something I created together to have its own look of individuality. The harness mixed with the pink bustier by H&M and a ruffled, voluminous black skirt with pink lace underneath. The heels however are Christian Louboutin and purse by Yves Saint Laurent.
Feeling French: I actually have pants in this outfit! I know normally my previous outfits have been dresses or skirts but these pink jeans by Hobbs were too cute, I had to style a look around them. It’s something worn in Autumn or beginning of winter, the top is a pullover by Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini and made out of soft wool. The black embellished heels are by Dolce & Gabanna again and the necklace and bracelet are by Betsey Johnson. Are you all noticing a trend here on who I would pick in my alternate universe closet, if I had the money I would definitely spend it on these designers.
I have been on a roll with taking photos lately on Second Life, though I do not blog for fashion from there anymore, I shop for fun and randomly to save my money.
I have been hit by a creative spark with my photos and it seems because of it, it is reflecting in getting more likes than my usual 20. They have been varying in theme and colour, though pink of course is still present in some of them.
Some of them are focused on the seasons surrounding my avatar, some are focused on the features of my cottage or the new accessories that I have bought at the new round of events. These four pictures I am sharing are my recent shots I have uploaded, the below photo has recieved 47 favourites from the flickr followers, I haven’t recieved many likes in a while so quite happy with this achievement.
Two of them have been a pin-up theme from the recent round of Rewind which is all about the 1940s. The top photo is taken at Elysion sim on the roof of their Luxe theatre where they have burlesque shows every month. The second photo is taken in the comfort of my own pixel home, focusing on the amazing crystal rings by Yummy at this month’s round of Collabor88.
The third photo has a background made by Astralia which is featured in Rewind: 1940s this month and the lingerie is by Moon Elixir for the latest round of ROMP, an adult/kink event. The last photo is taken in a skybox on my home sim featuring the background house made by Foxcity poses for November round of Pocket gacha. The pose itself is also by Foxcity, top by Candydoll and shorts by Villena. My tentacle companion is by Katat0nik from last month’s round of Panic of the Pumpkin.
Hey all, got another collection of Polyvore outfits
Since this idea came to me I have made 37 outfits in total for the alternate universe version of me. Unlike the closet of Ame Hayato, I didn’t have to restrict what I put together to stay in-character. Because these outfits are what I would love to wear including places to visit, make-up to wear and accessories to carry with me at all times.
Been having a lot of fun making them and will be sharing three at a time.
Sparkle on: This is very Himegyaru or ‘Princess’ inspired fashion but it isn’t really because it bears more skin than what the girls wear in Japan. It’s an outfit I’d wear in London or Paris while drinking tea and writing up the next big novel (alternate universe anyway) or about to attend a meeting with the fashion magazines. This is very feminine and still keeping to my colour scheme of pink and black. My favourite pieces are the pink planner from Kikki K, the sushi badges and earrings and the bag from Moschino it matches with the corset of the same designer.
The Tango: Inspired by a chapter in the story I’m writing for my alternate self, it was a fun chapter to be written. She is back home in Los Angeles and getting dance classes for her brother’s upcoming wedding, what she didn’t realise is that her celebrity boyfriend has come by to visit on his return to work. They are paired off by the instructor and taught the tango. I went for simple but had to get a skirt that moves freely, it is made by Anthony Vaccarello. Shoes are Dolce & Gabanna’s cage heels, another favourite addition.
Writer: One of my favourite LOTD to make for myself, this is if I was at home in my apartment after a busy day working in the fashion magazine office and writing is my hobby to help relax my buzzing mind. Though the dress itself is quite expensive for just relaxing in (it is by Temperley London), I loved the idea of ruffled, loose dress along with the unicorn slippers which I have in real life too. The pink inflatable chair brings back a feeling of nostalgia as I used to have one back in the 90s when it was all the craze. Miso soup and Godiva cookies are a guilty pleasure to have on the desk while writing too.
Happy Halloween all!
This all stemmed from a dream that I had last month and it evolved into an alternate universe version of myself where I got to be working in a fashion magazine or related to that industry and writing subjects that I loved while also travelling the world and dating the celebrity crush.
These outfits came from that idea. So here are the first three that I made;
Autumn in NYC: A place I have travelled to with my parents during our big U.S holiday, the alternate me would be going to the Big Apple a lot to see her boyfriend in between his filming of his shows and would also be here to help promote the fashion magazine that she works for. Her closet is bigger and bolder than my own so she would be wearing the Christian Louboutin heels and Valentino locked purse. But because she is still me, pink is a huge yes in the clothes and being unique is what I love to express even outside in the real world.
Library Chic: When my alternate self is not being travelling the world being the editor-in-chief’s assistant and dressing up to the nines for the fashion magazine, she will be the tourist checking out the city that she is currently visiting. Being part of the fashion industry, Paris is a fashion capital to be going to and having been there myself I already have a couple of favourite places, it will also be a place of inspiration for my stories. The Dolce and Gabbana pumps and Betsey Johnson crossbody pumpkin bag are my favourites.
Cinque Terre: This is another place I went to in Europe and though it was densely populated with locals and tourists being the middle of Summer, the coloured houses was stunning! My alternate self wouldn’t mind shacking up in one of the hotels here for a weekend away. Again the bag is Betsey Johnson, her brand would definitely in my collection in the form of many accessories. The pink suit is a one piece outfit and she would bring her glasses to continue her writing despite getting called to swim and have fun 😛
It is clear to say that pink and black is Ame’s trademark since college after moving on from the red and white of high school standards. The below outfits I made just today after getting a creativity spark hit me and I hope you all continue to enjoy her eccentric style.
Another three LOTD for you to all;
Explosive: The leather skirt was the first piece of clothing that I placed on the board and added everything else on top of it, this LOTD is heavily inspired by a future arc that will occur after Cartel and the one after that. Basically Ame and her older sister Mei go to Kyoto and blow up a building that is in an alliance with a traitor of their family the Hayatos. That is why she has heavy arsenal attached to the fierce yet still cute look. The shoes also are a statement on their own, unique and pink, it matches the heart grenade
Cute Shopper: Loved Paris in August and it is a favourite destination in Ame’s stories, this is just another random outfit I created for her when she goes shopping in the fashion city. I have been loving patches and enamel pins lately in reality and it has been featuring in Ame’s wardrobe recently too. Also incorporated Christian Louboutin in both her shoes and what she has been shopping while in Paris. The Chinese takeaway bag is from Japan from their Vogue magazine, further emphasising on Ame’s and my own Asian pride.
Glam: The faux fur just makes me think of the old fashion glamour days of Hollywood and Hyuna herself likes wearing a lot of shawls when she goes to award nights or performing on stage. The Charlotte Russe Nyx eyeshadow palette is very cute and something I would see part of Ame’s beauty haul in any country that she travels to, though this LOTD is based in Tokyo.
Well not in the sense that I am continuing the Ame chronicles, that’s still a work in progress at the moment but I am giving you three brand new fashion tiles that I haven’t re-shared from previous times. I also realised that I don’t need to keep finding new things to publish for Ame, her wardrobe is already big enough, expect to see familiar items in LOTDs in the future.
Yakuza in Venice: A corporate yet romantic outfit again much more covered up compared to her usual frisky style, Ame would be returning to Venice in the future of her chronicles and there is one reason why and it starts with J. The shoes are by her favourite designer Christian Louboutin and my favourite piece to this LOTD, I also like the Betsey Johnson bag that goes across the body. This outfit could be featured in a future arc but I have yet to decide.
Return to Prague: Deathclub was such a fun and deviant story to write during Prague arc that I’m sure in the future, the Yakuza would return there even if it meant facing her past (you will all understand it when I eventually get to posting the next arc in her tale). Unlike her previous outfit which was a harnessed black dress so to speak, Ame is going for more elegant vibes in this new attire, though the purse states otherwise. My favourite piece the Queen of Hearts earrings by Sophie Harley.
Milano memories: Another elegant piece though it has a plunging top and daring split up the side, Milan is one of the fashion capitals of the world and in a future arc, Ame will be going here and while doing her usual Yakuza job, she of course will be shopping. I personally have been to this city and found it to be surprisingly modern after all the other cities kept their ancient history. This outfit has yet to be part of a story but I have style it as a shopping trip, my favourite pieces definitely have to be the ruby red rooster by MCM and the pearl necklace.
No new tile today coming from the grid, just a lot of random pictures that I have been taking since returning from my month holiday, I have to admit that the release of cuter, pink items is making a comeback again and I’m so glad it is.
MishMish released an adorable bear in the September round of Collabor88 and it is either a companion, a plushie to cuddle or decoration for your home. Close friends know I have a weakness for teddy bears I see them as the guardians for kids when they sleep, I also still have my very first bear since I was born, One-Eye Jack. The pretty pink building in the background is actually HolliPocket‘s store, there was lag present on the sim so I could take a photo without the furniture inside.
I sometimes visit the very first store that I shopped in back in 2013, it was originally called Crazy Kitty, now renamed Candy Kitten, the owner is Kaci Kohime and she has slowly changed her theme to something that the babygirls in BDSM would love. The sim I’m on hers is her store but this little cafe with ice-cream out the front is outside the main entrance and to the left. My top is by Hilly Haalan, the cute traveller bag with camera is from Reign‘s gacha from the September round of the Arcade, the Hungry necklace is by E.marie from PocketGacha, a new event where there is no sim and you can just play by a hud, no lag, no worries.
Taken in the comfort of my home, see the MishMish bear in the corner, I got two colours, one for a companion the other as decoration in my bedroom. As I have said in previous entries, I am usually quite often parked inside my cottage because it is my safety bubble and comfort zone away from the toxic personalities of the people on Second Life. The outfit I’m wearing is my most comfortable, if not in the pyjamas. The cute hoodie is by Sweet Thing from the current round of Kustom9 and the underwear are by Violent Seduction
If I’m not parked in my cottage I go wandering and usually on my own though this week I have been enjoying the company of one of my best friends online Aria. The above picture is taken outside the main store of Aii, she creates fantasy and Japanese inspired clothing. My garments are made by Zenith in the new round of Kustom9, as always she makes amazing mesh Oriental robes.
It’s halfway through Summer in the northern hemisphere and I got inspired to make casual but still cute Summer outfits for Ame. They are all going with the theme of pink and denim and she is either back home in Tokyo or across the Pacific and in Los Angeles.
The three new LOTD that I have made for Ame are listed below;
Summer Bliss: Having been to Santa Monica myself about two years ago, it is the perfect, picturesque place for Summer. Having a mini carnival with ferris wheel on the wharf alongside the beach where a lot of locals catch the waves, I found it ideal for Ame to go there and take a break from being in the high end cities and constantly shopping. Because of it, this is a cute but much more simpler outfit compared to her other looks of the day. The only designer item she has in this look are the pink Jimmy Choo’s.
Casual Princess: I’ve seen HyunA wear pastel pink before for a music video and she looked absolutely adorable in it, this is another relaxed LOTD for Ame when she is back home in Tokyo, the most expensive item here is the pin! It is made by Christian Lacroix, the other expensive item is the denim scalloped skirt, one of Valentino’s works. Overall I was going for cute and very girly including the Hello Kitty iphone cover, the strawberry bag, Hello kitty nail polish and unicorn plushie, Ame is in her home country so as always she goes all out when it comes to her accessories.
Harajuku: Lots of bright colours and random additions to this LOTD, it was also a lot of fun to make and the first one I made out of the three featured in this post. The Marques’ Almeida wrap skirt, Alberta Ferreti tied belt and Aquazurra sandals were the expensive clothes in this colourful outfit but other than that, Ame is going for bright and happy to blend in with the people within the Harajuku district. This is an outfit that the Yakuza would wear when going to one of the monster cafes or shopping for unique accessories, she often hangs out here with her group of girls usually after a family mission.
Pink isn’t just a colour, it’s an attitude
I will openly admit this to everyone who comes by my blog, sometimes IMVU has cuter clothes than Second Life, I switch between the two quite often and though we do not walk, run or fly on the IMVU platform, the creators do their best in releasing a lot of adorable clothes.
While the men as always it is a work in progress but that is the same in reality too, more female clothes then men brands, even they look handsome and on point in their clothes. I know this because I dress up my boyfriend’s avatar on IMVU. And like what I do on Second Life after sitting in the dressing room and changing my avatar’s appearance, I test out the look either through photo publishing or go into the heavily populated rooms.
The reception is usually recieved well and I get compliments whether from my friends or from randoms who private message in either world. The furniture detail on Second Life is cuter but there is no limit in how much you can put inside a public room on IMVU. I have three public rooms in that world- my office, a Summer pool and my New York city apartment.
I usually hang out in the apartment as most of you are aware from my previous IMVU posts and I always like to chop and change various corners in that public room as much as I change my avatar’s outfit whenever I log on after a while. I have been on IMVU for 10 years now since August this year and I have watched the progression of the standard avatar change from heavy jewellery and bobble heads to sleek mesh heads and scalers to give more curvature to the base.
This assumption especially said by the Second Life users about IMVU avatars needs to stop, because not all of us look like a 2007 avatar anymore, in fact we look really good.
