It is so hot this weekend! I am tempted to turn on the air-conditioner for the sake of being cool but I also know that will be a waste of time considering I might go out after releasing this collection of outfits. The below LOTD are a mixture of black and white with pink and either work, casual or sport.
Posting three as per the norm when it comes to sharing my outfits from Polyvore;
The Chanel Boots: Using a direct quote from the film The Devil wears Prada because my alternate universe self is inspired by this fashion movie as well as Confessions of a Shopaholic. The boots are by Chanel, not the same ones that Anne Hathaway wore as Andy Sacks but similar thighs highs to say the least. The top is by Dolce & Gabanna and the shorts are Abercrombie and Fitch. The pink cardigan is not designer but it is cashmere, a layer over the flimsy blouse. This is an outfit that sums up the perks of being an editor-in-chief’s assistant, shopping around the world in couture! My favourite piece is Betsey Johnson rose bag.
Fight like a Girl: When I was 21, I took roughly two years of Jeet Kune Do class, it is the martial arts that Bruce Lee began, it is a mixture of other deadly arts but with his own twist on it. Now my alternate self would definitely take a combination of dance and martial arts to stay active (and to fit in those gorgeous clothes). The above outfit is one of her training LOTD, none of it is designer though the sneakers are Nike and the bag is Victoria Secret. Everything is minimal and she only wears the pendant that holds the intial of her celebrity boyfriend, subtlety at its best. My favourite accessory is the star pin in the braid, its pink and cutesy.
Laduree: There IS a Laduree store that sells macarons and stationary outside the Palace of Versailles, I even got myself a keychain and notebooks after ogling at how pretty the store itself was. My alternate self would have Laduree make-up because she would be able to afford it and going to Versailles would be a favourite tourist habit of hers in between working and shopping. The top is by Honey couture, skirt by Ronald Van Der Kemp and the shoes are inspired by Cinderella’s glass slippers made by Dolce & Gabanna. My favourite accessory would be the lipgloss and the random pink tea cup, because high tea is elegant and posh.
Oh I absolutely loved being in Paris for the five nights I was there this past August and because of my love for the tv series Miraculous, which is set in that fashion capital and working for a French hotel chain, I can’t really escape it.
The below three outfits are what I created if my alternate self went to Paris for either work or pleasure, keeping to pink of course. I had lots of fun creating these too;
Parisian Kitty: Time for work for the fashion magazine and it means going to many capital cities to do interviews, find clothing of inspiration, take photos or even stand-in for the editor-in-chief. I absolutely love this outfit! The skirt is by Dolce & Gabanna, those hot boots are by Alexander McQueen and ice-cream wristlet is by Betsey Johnson (of course). It is blending something professional with the pink blazer and making it into something I would call my own. The scarf is directly from Sanrio online store and hair would be pulled into a neat bun, like I said it was fun to create.
Night out: The celebrity boyfriend and I would go out with friends, whether his fellow stars or my own group and it wouldn’t be all just for work. This outfit is inspired by an all out, star-studded event and taken on Bastille Day. A known holiday to the French and something they celebrate as much as New Years eve. The outfit itself is not really a designer brand, more something I created together to have its own look of individuality. The harness mixed with the pink bustier by H&M and a ruffled, voluminous black skirt with pink lace underneath. The heels however are Christian Louboutin and purse by Yves Saint Laurent.
Feeling French: I actually have pants in this outfit! I know normally my previous outfits have been dresses or skirts but these pink jeans by Hobbs were too cute, I had to style a look around them. It’s something worn in Autumn or beginning of winter, the top is a pullover by Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini and made out of soft wool. The black embellished heels are by Dolce & Gabanna again and the necklace and bracelet are by Betsey Johnson. Are you all noticing a trend here on who I would pick in my alternate universe closet, if I had the money I would definitely spend it on these designers.
Casual outfits can be done right and still made to be fashion statements even if the designers are not present in each individual LOTD. These outfits are featured in my alternate self’s home town of Los Angeles. They all going with the colour of pink as per the norm and giving off a sense of originality in who she is.
Sharing three as always, I take it back some of these outfits have designer;
Disney Girl: The top is Miu Miu, the denim skirt is Dolce & Gabanna and the sneakers are Vans, so even a fun day trip to Disneyland could result in wearing high end brands. I will say the excuse for my alternate self is because she works for a fashion magazine so she will gets the extra couture even in every day outfits. I been to Disneyland on my own and if I had the accessories in the above LOTD, I too would go all out. Minnie Mouse’s headband ears, Ursula’s shell choker and the clutch bag of Beauty and the Beast made by Judith Leiber is a favourite accessory along with the clock stud earrings from Alice in Wonderland.
Dance Classes: Unlike the real me, the mirror version of myself stays fit and stays motivated in order to fit in the cute clothes that are part of her large wardrobe. She does a combination of martial arts class and mix dance. The dance class varies between modern, ballet and aerial yoga. The above LOTD does not have any designer except the accessories are all Victoria Secret, but it the clothes are loose and free to move around in. She packs two pairs of different shoes because the classes are spontaneous and she is prepared/organised for anything.
Casual Yet Cute: I have to be Los Angeles twice now during my real travels and though the traffic is pure chaos and some areas can be very rundown, that is what it means to be in a bustling city in any western country. The dress is Valentino, the denim jacket is Maurice’s, the strapless bra is La Perla, the black stilettos are Giuseppe Zanotti and the adorable perfume bag is my favourite designer Betsey Johnson. This is a fun LOTD and though casual it is chic and very feminine. Something I could wear too in the bustling city streets of shopping or sight seeing. The ginger kitten is if my alternate self had a pet living with her in her apartment. A small companion.
I have enough new photos that I took on Second Life that I can now feature in a new post from that virtual universe. Yay!
I been experimenting with the different settings, sometimes entire sims can be just too laggy even when you derender everyone else around you. And finding just a backgrounds or backdrops made by the talented creators is all that I need to create a photo. The above photo however was taken at a sim District 18, a sci-fi/cyberpunk roleplay world. However my outfit is definitely not something from a futuristic set. The top is by Hime Dream and it’s so cute! The gamer belt along with Sailor Moon’s compact is a favourite add-on.
This is my most recent upload on my flickr stream and taken in my cottage in front of my blogging corner, where I’m usually parked at if I’m not deciding to explore the rest of the Second Life grid. My hair in real life is ombre, dark brown almost black with caramel-ish/blonde tips, I went with that look for ages in-world too. It has always been Dela hair, but this week I switched to Runaway hair just because she had more variety in her ombre and I wanted a change. I also made my eyes hazel, not that you can tell in the photo.
I am still crying out for clothes from the designer that is pink and cute but not lingerie or borderline teenager/child-like. I find myself returning to the marketplace or main store releases to find items that aren’t worn by every single resident on the grid. The top is by Envious, the skirt itself is Le Fil Casse, Jae stepping up with her raunchy bottoms. Also again this is in my cottage, I re-did the lounge with LAQ bookcases and confetti cake couches by Violetility.
There is a whole lot of drama related to the sim known as Backdrop city but I’m being honest here, I am glad the owner has rezzed out plenty of backgrounds and divided them into categories. Not everyone can afford to buy them whether in gacha mode or not, the above picture is a backdrop that I added all my extra decor into. The dress and jacket are an amazing collaboration between Candydoll and Le Fil Casse. Everything about the ensemble screams my favourite theme.
2018 is just around the corner and I did not have enough new photos from Second Life to share with you in this final week of 2017 so I’m sharing three outfits I made on Polyvore with my alternate universe again. All casual but keeping to the same theme as the previous fashion post of pink and black colour.
They all bring a personal touch for me as each has something featured in reality;
Seasoned Traveller: I love going to the airport whether it is personally going on a holiday with my parents or picking up family who have landed from overseas, there is always an exciting energy in any airport that I go to. My alternate self would be travelling a lot because of the industry that she works in. The only thing that is designer in this outfit is the heels belonging to Christian Louboutin. I also have travelled Emirates business class and it is divine!
Brit Chic: After being in London for 12 days this past September, I enjoyed it thoroughly and I would return there again and again if I had the money and time. My alternate universe self would have no problem flying there especially since her own celebrity boyfriend is British too. The whole outfit is feminine and cute with designer items such as the Valentino pink sandals, Burberry perfume and Gucci statement necklace. An ice-cream with two churros is a favourite snack to eat while walking around.
Bludger: This LOTD is chilled out and in the comfort of my alternate self’s home in Los Angeles when she is not travelling or working. I own a pair of the unicorn slippers that are featured in this set and could see myself drinking miso soup in an oversized jumper and short shorts while brainstorming ideas for my next fantasy novel. There is nothing couture in this outfit but the make-up featured are made by Anna Sui.
It is Christmas Eve! Corporate outfits can be fun depending on your job and how flexible your boss is, for my alternate reality self she works in a high end fashion magazine so she can express herself as an individual while still wearing the designer brands that her magazine promotes.
She tends to wear pink and black a lot more than any other colour being her trademark. As always, sharing three for you this week.
Editor-in-chief’s Assistant: Inspired by the aesthetic and feel of Runway in the movie Devil wears Prada, I was going for something similar with the office and the outfit as well. Top is by Jackie, skirt by Alexander Wang, earrings are Karl Lagerfeld, make up Bobbi Brown and belt is inspired by Christian Dior. My favourite piece in this LOTD are the badges- the ice cream, the Lucky cat and the mermaid shells since I love novelty personally.
Lunch Break: Mixing professional with unique trend and keeping to my own style, this LOTD is another office outfit while going on lunch break. The imaginary magazine is located in Los Angeles and I could see myself venturing into Little Tokyo during my lunch hour then picking up a glazed cruller on the way back to the office. Top is by Rosie Assoulin, sirt by DSquared2 and shoes are Valentino. My favourite accessory featured is definitely the pink keyboard bag, it is very unique.
Back to work: After the holidays and travelling around the fashion capitals, returning to the usual grind in Los Angeles while publishing the memories of the fashion weeks either in New York City or Paris. This is a very feminine LOTD going with her mood of being in a content relationship where is it no longer hiding from the public. Ruffled pink top is by Zerdocean, skirt by Chic Wish, shoes are Kurt Geiger, belt is Saint Laurent and earrings are Dolce & Gabanna.
I got a new set for you all in between working the first week of my 9-5 job, so far the past two days though it has just been induction has been amazing, learning a whole higher calibre of hotel service. Though I am no longer facing the front desk, I am still with the guests over the phone in Reservations.
This collection of three new outfits have two based in Japan, because I would travel there a lot and the other one is a private outing away from the crowds- a green retreat.
Getaway: There is no actual location for this place, it is several but I was inspired by the Spring time in the northern hemisphere and a forest that isn’t too hot or too cold, just right for a small, intimate picnic for alternate self and her celebrity boyfriend. Somewhere away from the crowds where it can be just them in nature. The ankle frilly socks and candy pink cardigan are my favourite additions to this LOTD, it is very feminine and whimsical. Also the small jelly is a return to my childhood, I loved eating them.
Trip to Japan: The Land of the Rising sun is still no.1 in my travel bucket list in reality, so it makes perfect sense that my alternate self would be going to this country more than once. I think my favourite piece from this look is the heavily detailed denim jacket, I mean c’mon just look at it! All those pins and chains, it looks punk rock but it’s not. It is elegant enough to pull off on top of a cute pink skirt and Louboutin spiked heels.
Tokyo Disneyland: The happiest place on Earth, of course I’m going to visit its Japanese counterpart many times if I could in reality and plenty in my alternate universe where money and time is no issue. The short sleeves and skirt though may be the wrong attire for Halloween in Japan because they are already heading into their colder months (whoops). The novelty aspect that I was going for in this LOTD was a lot of fun especially with the food theme jewellery- sushi earrings and gummi bears bracelet.
I have been on a roll with taking photos lately on Second Life, though I do not blog for fashion from there anymore, I shop for fun and randomly to save my money.
I have been hit by a creative spark with my photos and it seems because of it, it is reflecting in getting more likes than my usual 20. They have been varying in theme and colour, though pink of course is still present in some of them.
Some of them are focused on the seasons surrounding my avatar, some are focused on the features of my cottage or the new accessories that I have bought at the new round of events. These four pictures I am sharing are my recent shots I have uploaded, the below photo has recieved 47 favourites from the flickr followers, I haven’t recieved many likes in a while so quite happy with this achievement.
Two of them have been a pin-up theme from the recent round of Rewind which is all about the 1940s. The top photo is taken at Elysion sim on the roof of their Luxe theatre where they have burlesque shows every month. The second photo is taken in the comfort of my own pixel home, focusing on the amazing crystal rings by Yummy at this month’s round of Collabor88.
The third photo has a background made by Astralia which is featured in Rewind: 1940s this month and the lingerie is by Moon Elixir for the latest round of ROMP, an adult/kink event. The last photo is taken in a skybox on my home sim featuring the background house made by Foxcity poses for November round of Pocket gacha. The pose itself is also by Foxcity, top by Candydoll and shorts by Villena. My tentacle companion is by Katat0nik from last month’s round of Panic of the Pumpkin.
Hey all, got another collection of Polyvore outfits
Since this idea came to me I have made 37 outfits in total for the alternate universe version of me. Unlike the closet of Ame Hayato, I didn’t have to restrict what I put together to stay in-character. Because these outfits are what I would love to wear including places to visit, make-up to wear and accessories to carry with me at all times.
Been having a lot of fun making them and will be sharing three at a time.
Sparkle on: This is very Himegyaru or ‘Princess’ inspired fashion but it isn’t really because it bears more skin than what the girls wear in Japan. It’s an outfit I’d wear in London or Paris while drinking tea and writing up the next big novel (alternate universe anyway) or about to attend a meeting with the fashion magazines. This is very feminine and still keeping to my colour scheme of pink and black. My favourite pieces are the pink planner from Kikki K, the sushi badges and earrings and the bag from Moschino it matches with the corset of the same designer.
The Tango: Inspired by a chapter in the story I’m writing for my alternate self, it was a fun chapter to be written. She is back home in Los Angeles and getting dance classes for her brother’s upcoming wedding, what she didn’t realise is that her celebrity boyfriend has come by to visit on his return to work. They are paired off by the instructor and taught the tango. I went for simple but had to get a skirt that moves freely, it is made by Anthony Vaccarello. Shoes are Dolce & Gabanna’s cage heels, another favourite addition.
Writer: One of my favourite LOTD to make for myself, this is if I was at home in my apartment after a busy day working in the fashion magazine office and writing is my hobby to help relax my buzzing mind. Though the dress itself is quite expensive for just relaxing in (it is by Temperley London), I loved the idea of ruffled, loose dress along with the unicorn slippers which I have in real life too. The pink inflatable chair brings back a feeling of nostalgia as I used to have one back in the 90s when it was all the craze. Miso soup and Godiva cookies are a guilty pleasure to have on the desk while writing too.
Happy Halloween all!
This all stemmed from a dream that I had last month and it evolved into an alternate universe version of myself where I got to be working in a fashion magazine or related to that industry and writing subjects that I loved while also travelling the world and dating the celebrity crush.
These outfits came from that idea. So here are the first three that I made;
Autumn in NYC: A place I have travelled to with my parents during our big U.S holiday, the alternate me would be going to the Big Apple a lot to see her boyfriend in between his filming of his shows and would also be here to help promote the fashion magazine that she works for. Her closet is bigger and bolder than my own so she would be wearing the Christian Louboutin heels and Valentino locked purse. But because she is still me, pink is a huge yes in the clothes and being unique is what I love to express even outside in the real world.
Library Chic: When my alternate self is not being travelling the world being the editor-in-chief’s assistant and dressing up to the nines for the fashion magazine, she will be the tourist checking out the city that she is currently visiting. Being part of the fashion industry, Paris is a fashion capital to be going to and having been there myself I already have a couple of favourite places, it will also be a place of inspiration for my stories. The Dolce and Gabbana pumps and Betsey Johnson crossbody pumpkin bag are my favourites.
Cinque Terre: This is another place I went to in Europe and though it was densely populated with locals and tourists being the middle of Summer, the coloured houses was stunning! My alternate self wouldn’t mind shacking up in one of the hotels here for a weekend away. Again the bag is Betsey Johnson, her brand would definitely in my collection in the form of many accessories. The pink suit is a one piece outfit and she would bring her glasses to continue her writing despite getting called to swim and have fun 😛
It is clear to say that pink and black is Ame’s trademark since college after moving on from the red and white of high school standards. The below outfits I made just today after getting a creativity spark hit me and I hope you all continue to enjoy her eccentric style.
Another three LOTD for you to all;
Explosive: The leather skirt was the first piece of clothing that I placed on the board and added everything else on top of it, this LOTD is heavily inspired by a future arc that will occur after Cartel and the one after that. Basically Ame and her older sister Mei go to Kyoto and blow up a building that is in an alliance with a traitor of their family the Hayatos. That is why she has heavy arsenal attached to the fierce yet still cute look. The shoes also are a statement on their own, unique and pink, it matches the heart grenade
Cute Shopper: Loved Paris in August and it is a favourite destination in Ame’s stories, this is just another random outfit I created for her when she goes shopping in the fashion city. I have been loving patches and enamel pins lately in reality and it has been featuring in Ame’s wardrobe recently too. Also incorporated Christian Louboutin in both her shoes and what she has been shopping while in Paris. The Chinese takeaway bag is from Japan from their Vogue magazine, further emphasising on Ame’s and my own Asian pride.
Glam: The faux fur just makes me think of the old fashion glamour days of Hollywood and Hyuna herself likes wearing a lot of shawls when she goes to award nights or performing on stage. The Charlotte Russe Nyx eyeshadow palette is very cute and something I would see part of Ame’s beauty haul in any country that she travels to, though this LOTD is based in Tokyo.
