Yes I’m still around, sorry I haven’t been sharing anything with you all lately,
I have been on a creative spree when it comes to story writing, also suffering jet lag from my trip to Europe and working the PM shifts. But I will post today that I had an interview at the new Sofitel in the city yesterday morning and it went really well! I met the Reservations manager and the Revenue manager who were both really nice women and the interview only went for 17mins, I will find out if I got the job or not next Monday so positive thoughts for me everyone!
This Sunday I will also be doing the Blackmore 10km run/walk with my mum and two of her friends, I’m not sure if some of you remember from last year, we did the 9km run of the same event. I am hoping to beat my score since I have been very active while travelling around Europe so my body is not foreign to lots of movement. My sister and I will be staying in the city because Ange being the fit girl that she is, is doing the half marathon- say good luck to her too 😀
I powered through the 8 days of AM shifts the past week and managed to get the new guest service agent onto doing the morning checklist and doing check outs, I had a proud mum moment on the last day before I had to get home for the drive to Canberra with mum. The ravioli in the tea room last night in the Hyatt was delicious, light but full of carbs which according to my mum is what you need to have before a big walk/run.
Woke up this morning at 5:15am, room service breakfast got delivered of wholemeal toast and either poached or scrambled eggs, boyfriend was jealous from the photo. The start line for the running festival was across the road from the hotel so we were quite fortunate and walked there. Mum got a personal best with going under 90mins, she beat her own score that we did at the Blackmore run last year and that was 9km!
I think my five likes are just from the last day of work and this weekend to be honest;
- Though I did not get under 90 I did get under 100mins and finished it, got a medal
- Managed to sleep very well last night in the hotel’s bed
- Chicken caesar wrap with wedges for lunch in Goulburn today- nuff said
- Going out again with Mei tonight even though my leg muscles are a wee bit sore
- My pictures on Flickr have surpassed 30 favs now 😀
Three days out of eight have been done and dusted so far and I still have yet to continue my exercise, though I’m still very much moving around but not at a cardio level. Mum has been telling me about my budget for our Europe trip in August, thank goodness I been saving up is all I can say despite the random splurges of cute buys online…
Our clocks went back an hour today and I am forever grateful for the extra sleep I got this morning turning six hours into seven, I also worked with my front office manager today, despite being constant with our check outs, the guests were all so lovely and happy people, so we had a lot of fun while on shift. I also got fed breakfast at work today too, we got to have eggs and hash browns plus a free lunch! I can’t say no to fish and chips.
Been on a writing spree when it comes to the story of Mistaken Identity, I am up to chapter 6 for it and so far ironing out the plot while trying to calm down all the crazy ideas that keep entering my head around the fictional tale. Watched Burlesque to help with the dance sequences since the main focus is in the club. Can’t wait for this week to finish though, not just because I’m looking forward to a mini weekend away with mum but to get my rest will be nice.
My weekend started today but it has been non stop until I got home tonight at 11:30pm, I been awake since my alarm woke me up at 6am for an early start to do another jog/walk with my mum and friends this time near the beach and my cousin the Olympian participated with us 😀 It was 8km this time but it had hills and I admit it now I struggled and loathed those hills! Lunch was worth it though just up the road with views of the ocean and night time my parents and I got to watch X-factor live auditions! I saw Mel B, Guy Sebastian, Iggy Azalea and Adam Lambert, voice is a wee bit hoarse though.
This week’s 5 likes;
- My lunch today consisted of a chicken schnitzel burger with vanilla milkshake, worth it after the walk!
- Hot tub chill out at my cousin’s home to ease our sore muscles
- X-factor live auditions, we were on the front row so possibly on television 😛
- I got one more day off to recover from today
- I got a third positive review from one of my guests at work!
So tired now but I am also working on the next chapter of my Yakuza Ame’s storyline, I know my bestie Mei cannot wait to read it. Please wait, it’s still work in progress! ><
I been given three days off this week which gives me extra time to try and get rid of this bloody cold once and for all. It also gives me time and energy to stay ahead for my work group’s Fitbit challenge that finishes tomorrow night. Today was all about the exercise I did a 5.7km walk around my suburb and despite being sick I managed to do it with no problem 😀 Yesterday it was about cleaning and re-decorating my bedroom.
I got myself new flannel sheets to keep warm this winter as well as pom pom garlands that are strung across the head of my bed and a new light for my bedside table, it is a pink heart with mini lights run by battery. Also vaccuumed and dusted so quite happy in how my room looks at present and hopefully got rid of any lingering virus germs that are sitting around.
Tomorrow night I will be going out for an 8pm dinner with all my high school girls, organised by my bestie Mei I just hope that it doesn’t go too late as I have 4 days of AM shift to return to at work >.<
Last week I got myself a Fitbit Charge HR, I figured that after seeing my younger sister have one and my 3 work colleagues wear them it would hopefully motivate me to walk more and do less sitting when I’m not working. Turns out it has! And inspired me to go on for walks to get my steps up. I had a proud, self high five moment last night when I was finishing shift and my fitbit vibrated informing me that I have hit my 10k step goal for the day.
For a girl who struggles in motivation and finding something to help her be healthy or lose weight, I can happily say the fitbit is helping me move more. Especially now that my 3 work colleagues have put me into a 4 day step challenge to see who will win. So far I am second and 2000 steps behind my colleague Honey who is beating all of us. I have today and tomorrow to try and catch up to her, good thing its my weekend 😀
