The Chronicles continues and so does Ame’s journey
Hanano Japanese Restaurant; Midday; Sheraton Shanghai Hongqiao Hotel
The flight across the Pacific ocean to China was a long one and it almost made Ame want to demand the pilot turn around and take her back home to her patron. Almost. She was given one of the best suites at the Sheraton and the sleep satisfied her from the trip ‘forward in time’. Waking up refreshed, Ame had gotten changed in a simple short black dress for her meeting with the contact. Her father’s secretary had told her that she would be meeting with the contact precisely at 12pm in the Japanese restaurant downstairs.
Checking her Prada watch on her left wrist, Ame pouted it was ten past twelve and still no contact or person in sight. Ready to stand up and leave at the frustration of the present, a warm hand was placed on her forearm followed by a gentle whisper. A sheathed katana with a black lacquered scabbard was placed on the table in front of her “Easy Ame-chan, I’m here”
The Hayato child froze and she looked up mentally cursing to herself as a tall Asian man took up the chair opposite her, comfortably crossing one leg over the other. An amused expression across his face “You look like you just saw a ghost Ame-chan” He was jovial and teasing and it made Ame wanting to dig the katana on the table straight into his laughing mouth. She sat back down and clenched onto the hem of her dress underneath the clean white table cloth “Kazuyuki what is your pretty boy face doing here in Shanghai?”
Opposite her the amused expression remained on the half Japanese/Chinese man’s face “Are you still upset that one of your leading clan leaders married one of the Triads?” Ame folded her arms still glowering back “I’m mad she produced an offspring like yourself” Kazuyuki pressed a hand against his crisp business shirt feigning sadness “That hurts Ame-chan, we got along so well when we were teenagers” Ame mumbled under her breath “I was horny…” Now openly beaming at her anger and taking great pleasure in it, Kazuyuki slid a small yellow envelope to her.
Picking up the envelope, Ame scrutinised it from the outside “And this is?” Kazuyuki returned a lopsided smile “You wanted to find the temple. The monks will help you” “The holy men don’t aid Yakuza” Ame reminded him her tone of voice turning cynical. Still the smile remained on Kazuyuki’s face “They aren’t your normal monks Ame-chan”
